Our Story
We stand for more than just awesome teamwear.
(But, yeah, we do that too)
Hey! We’re Grainne McGuire and Sophia Grego, co-founders of Kiana Sportswear.
Grainne, hailing from Ireland, and Sophia, from Virginia, crossed paths playing Gaelic football and Camogie, Ireland's national sports, in San Diego, California. Our frustration with the limited options for women's sportswear, particularly teamwear, led us to create Kiana Sportswear.
We created Kiana because, like you, we were tired of squeezing into sportswear that clearly wasn’t made for us. The name? It’s from the Irish word ceanna, meaning ‘same or equal’—because that’s what we’re all about. Oh - and our co-founder Grainne is Irish.
We’re on a mission to make sure every female athlete out there—whether you’re scoring goals or running your first lap—feels confident and supported in gear that fits perfectly.
Because why should guys have all the fun (and good gear)? Let’s change the game, shall we?
What we’re all about:
Empowerment: Every woman’s an athlete, and we’re here to make sure you feel like one. Confidence = 🔥.
Inclusivity: Bodies come in all shapes and sizes—your sportswear should too! No one-size-fits-all nonsense here.
Innovation: Old-school sportswear? No, thanks. We’re constantly cooking up fresh designs that actually work for women.
Comfort: We make gear so comfy, you’ll forget you’re wearing it. No pinching, bunching, or tugging—promise!
Integrity: We keep it real. You get the best from us, always—no cutting corners or leaving you hanging.
